| Rhode Island | godd restaurant to celebrate 40th birthday Posted: Tue March 18, 2008 05:36 PM UTC
Hi, my parents and I are visiting Providence from Ireland at the end of April. We want to take my brother out for a great meal to help celebrate his 40th birthday. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have for me. Thanks.

If you don't mind driving around 34 miles (this is about the distance from my house to Disney World) ... how about going down to Newport and adding some sailing before your dinner? I was in a class there once and we all went sailing in the afternoon, they offer beer and wine in the boat, the experience was wonderful.
I don't know many restaurants, but in the second page of the VT listing for Newport Rhode Island there are a couple that look pretty good - just perfect after sailing!

Hi
thank for your reply. Actually I believe we are planning to go there during our stay. However I was hoping for somewhere a little closer to my brother's apartment!

By now you must have already celebrated your brother's birthday. There are quite a few restaurant reviews between my Prov page and that of other VT members. Federal HIll is always a favorite. Great Italian food. There is an Irish pub restaurant over by the river walk and the Courtyard hotel. Fabulous array of restaurants throughout the city...which we are known for. Every ethnicity is represented. Hope you found a good one. Let me know!
