G'day Maddy. I just loved Tahiti! We stayed on the main island for a couple of days and then a week on Moorea. We stayed at the Moorea Lagoon Resort who have been bought out by Sheridan since -http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/o

there many thing that could be eaten in french polynesia, something different from western food could be fish carpaccio always fresh or "poisson cru tahitien au lait de coco".
In Tahiti I suggest to eat at roulotte, very cheap and "peculiar", visit also Tahiti-Iti, I liked more tahiti is then Moorea is, also for the people living there. Sure it's worth to go to Moorea, early ferry in the morning, hire a scooter just next to the dock when you'll arrive. Your staying there would change a lot if you knew more then a few words of French, people will be more friendly :-)

Hi there,
well you can enjoy scubba diving, snorkeling, or just relaxing at the beach far far away from pollution and stress. They have a place called "les trois Cascades" (3 waterfalls) a very famous place to visit. It's located up north of Tahiti. As for food, well they have some good tasting french restaurant in Papeete. Every sunday, you might want to ask a native tahitian where you can find the "ma'a tahiti" it's very good and very traditional check my profile, it has a link on tahiti. Enjoy your trip! manurere2000
