| Alicante | short break weekend Posted: Mon March 17, 2008 04:16 PM UTC
Going to Alicante for 4 days break 20-24 Mar 08:
What is the cheapest way from Airport to city? (££?) where's best place to meet other people, as I'm going by myself? Salsa places, probably. How much is expected to pay for a night at Hostels? Hope the weather is good... already warm? Thanks guys Hernani (hernani_gabriel@hotmail.com) |

Taking the bus is the cheapest way to go downtown. The only problem is there's only one bus every 30 minutes and that's a long while. A taxi cab would charge you around 7 euros but a bus would cost less than 3 for sure. More info in www.subus.es site.
Good luck. Enjoy your stay! gOdOtPm...

Hello
I recently spent two nights in Alicante and the best hostal...by far,is'Les Monges' in El Barrio area. Look at VT tips and they have their own website too. Reserve your room NOW as it's VERY popular because it is attractive, central and quite cheap.I noticed there is some building work going on next door (but I guess that's very normal in historic old quarter's. If it is full there didn't seem to be many other good hostals(mine was very poor) but a lot of good hotels so I'm sure you could find a good deal at a hotel. I don't know about nightlife but there is a fantastic restaurant called Mare Maeu which I have written a tip on so check out my Alicante page for the address. I hope this is useful.

go to the 'el puerto'.. the port.. and some other salsa places behind Havana area near to la rambla.. you can talk to the local guys or waiters working in the bar to make friends with them.. i'm sure you will meet some if you stay in hostel. or even on the beach!
have fun!
