Acme Oyster House is a New Orleans institution. If you choose to only eat from the raw bar, you can bypass the line and stand at the bar while the shuckers prepare your food. It's conveniently located on Bourbon Street - closer to Canal Street.

The cafe on the ground floor of the royal sonesta hotel!! (Desire i believe it is called.) I start every trip to N'awlins with an order of oysters on the half shell and a couple of beers here. If you can, ask for a table in a window.
