If you have to go to Mohandesseen and Maadi I advice you to stay at Mohandesseen. The daily commute be between Mohandesseen and Nasr City is a nightmare.

Nasr City!! who wants to stay in that hell! traffic is horrible and very far from downtown area or center of Cairo, you will spend much more than price of flat monthly if you transport from Nasr city to Maadi or Mohandeseen.

Dokki is good area also like Mohandeseen, put it in your mind, about prices i think it is little bit expensive, real state newspapers in Egypt make better offers than that but i don't know if you speak arabic or you can get it,also is the flat furnitured or not?

Thanks everyone for your advice. Unfortunately my Arabic isn't great so I will go with the flat in Mohandeseen, as it is furnished, three bed and two bathroom. I think I would struggle to ind something upon arrival.

If I were you I would choose none of the two. Nasr City is among the most crowded and ugly places in Cairo and is far from the center.

Mohandeseen is a bit more accessible, although try to find a place further from the Gamet el Dowal street, which is constantly croweded. There are metro stations though in Mohandesseen and is closer to the center than Nasr City

It depends...

Where will be your daily route more?

I personally prefer Manyal El-Roda for many reasons mentioned by the co-mates here above.

1) Close to the Nile.
2) Transportation is easy to most of Cairo and Giza.
a) to Nasr City, Heliopolis and airport you use Salah Salm Street,
b) to maadi you use Corniche Roas vis Malek El-Saleh Bridge,
c) to Giza and pyramids you cross Abbas bridge to Pyramids Road,
d) to Mohandseen you either use University Bridge, Or Dokki Bridge, or Abbas bridge and Murad street.
e) to Cairo University you just go on foot,
f) to the centre you can cross Manyal street and Qasr El-Ainy str. or go parallel to the Nile branches.
g) above all it is served by all means of public transport wheter underground Metro (Al-Malek Al-Saleh stop) or lot of busses to Manyal itself or to Giza crossing Roda street.
Think of it and ask any of us here to render proper assistance!

Welcome to Egypt!
