we r going to albufeira next week and were wandering if any one knows of any mosques we can pray in and any halal food/meat shops. thx

With regards to a Mosque you could email the British Consulate in Portimão ( portimao.lisbon@fco.gov.uk ) they are usually good for this type of info (if nothing else).

thank u 4 that leics. I have obtained that info frm that site . do you know of any muslim food shops in that area? I'm sure that if we find the mosque some1 will be able to point us in the right direction. thx again

I googled for the info I posted (glad it helped): I rather like internet research and have never actually visited Portugal!

I can't find any halal shops though, so your best bet is to contact the mosque before you visit. I am sure they'll be able to advise you.

hav just come bak from albufeira. there is actually a mosque in albufeira itself. i am not sure of the actual address but it is is the bellavista tennis court and near pingo doce. there is a coffee shop close to that place. it is opposite a large modelo. we didnt find any halal meet shops or resturants but my husband found a man at the mosque who took him to a farm in a village somewhere and he was able to get a live chicken and halal it himself! talk about self-catering!
