I think it depends on the types of things your mom likes to do and her physical condition.

It's fun to take the bus and go down to the "old" downtown part of Vegas, and come back down to the end of the strip. I don't remember where Bellagio was located, but it's nice to see all the casinos, then maybe there's one she'll enjoy walking thru like the Venetian - just to take a peek around.

The Hoover dam tour is a great idea. There's also Zion National park going north on I-15, and the charming town of St George, Utah which is at times like a little sky chalet.

There's also a nice mall in Vegas, but then there are mall all over.

The one special thing about Vegas is to go out in the desert and see the night sky. The other beautiful thing is to go out on the road outside of Vegas, look west when the sun is just coming out, and look at the beautiful colors. That has had a lasting experience!

Hire a car and drive out to Oatman a real life western style town where the wild burros roam freely. You can even buy food for them and feed them. Theres some pretty little shops selling Indian jewelery, blankets etc. a couple of diners and bars and an hotel....all on one dusty street. The drive is great with some great scenery. On your way back you could stop off at Primm where there are several fashion outlets and casinos of course.

Check out my Vegas pages for more details on Oatman.
