I don't think there is any form of connection like that. You might be able to get a flight from Bar Harbour to St. John, maybe even Moncton, but the most practical way to travel that path is by car. It's not a bad drive, however, the roads are not the highest quality. You need to be a bit careful in winter, but the way is well marked, and the maps for that trip are pretty clear.

I agree with the other answers you have received. Airplanes, trains and busses are out of the question, so that leaves a car of some description. Once you get from Bar Harbor to the Maine/NB border at Calais, the highways are great from there all the way to Sackville - including 4-lane divided highways. Really, it is the only practical way to go from a cost and flexibility point of view.

I was just in Bar Harbor in September. I read the responses and while everyone tried to be helpful, something didn't seem right. Why? Because I distinctly remember there be ferry service from there to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. It would then be a quick car/bus ride to Sackville: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=yarmouth,+ns&daddr=sackville,+nb&sll=44.873389,-65.462036&sspn=1.640799,3.449707&ie=UTF8&z=8

Unfortunately this ferry isn't running until May 30th: http://www.catferry.com

Too bad you're not traveling a few months later.

The Bar Harbour ferry is not really practical for someong wanting to go to New Brunswick. You arrive here in Yarmouth, drive one hour to Digby, take another ferry across the Bay of Fundy and then you're still only in St. John, New Brunswick. Both ferries you need to be there one hour before departure, and both are three-hour crossings. That's 8 hours, and the drive isn't much more than that. We've gone down to Bangor from Yarmouth several times, (not quite Bar Harbour, but close) and we do it in a day, and that's with the Digby-St. John Ferry. The drive from Yarmouth, to Truro, and across into New Brunswick is nice if it's part of your holiday, but you don't want it as an add on

Right on regarding the ferries, not to mention the early time of the year for when this trip is planned! It is simply a lot cheaper and very simple to hop in a car and make the drive from Bar Harbor to Sackville, NB. It is going to take a few hours and some gas, but that is all you have to worry about.
