| Cancún | Hire a driver to Chichen Itza and Uxmal Posted: Fri March 14, 2008 01:58 PM UTC
I am planning a trip to Mexiko and due to tight schedule I have only 1 day for Chichen Itza and Uxmal. I would like to start from Mayan riviera soon in the morning and come at 8 am to chichen, where to spend 3 hours, then travel to Uxmal (there 1 and half hour), and then to Merida airport. I would like to know, whether it is possible to hire a driver (with a car) for 1 day, which will take me from Cancun (or other place of Mayan riviera) through Chichen Itza and Uxmal to Merida. How much could it cost and where can i find a contact to some drivers?

You can rent a car with driver from any mexican rental car company.
I have one posted on my Puerto MOrelos page ( transportation tips). THey are very professional and as I remember the car+driver was one of the options.

I doubt that you can hire a car including driver at any rental company. That was definitely not the case when I travelled in Mexico on several occasions.
Perhaps some locals know more details. Another option would be to contact a taxi company and negotiate the rate for the whole day. Why would you not just travel by non-stop bus to Chichen Itzá and then to Mérida, and then take a taxi to Uxmal to save time?
