Hello!

I've plan for a day trip from Hong Kong to Shenzhen to visit Windows of The World.

(a) Can anyone tell me is it possible for a day trip to Shenzhen?
(b) The best way (fast & cheap) to Shenzhen from Hong Kong either by train or ferry?
(c) Besides Windows of The World, where else can i go in 1 day trip?
(d) Is it okay for non-mandarin speaking (english) getting around in Shenzhen?
(e) If getting around Shenzhen by subway (Metro train)cheaper compare to bus?
(f) Is there any Metro Station near to Railway Station (HK-Shenzhen) or ferry terminal in Shenzhen(HK-Shenzhen)?

There are three sites at Window of the World - Window of the World itself, which is a world miniature; Splendid China, which is just a China miniature; and Happy Kingdom, which is better than HK Disney.

Another recent posting says there is a regular bus from Kowloon Tong to Window of the World. Otherwise take KCR to Lowu (40 minutes), walk across bridge into China (formalities could take an hour), then take metro from Luohu to Window of the World (30 minutes). It's about 20km. Costs 5RMB I think. There are buses, but they wouldn't be quicker, and probably no cheaper, or not much.

What sort of geting around do you envisage on a day trip? As long as you know where you're going, and are good at mime, China is your oyster.

By the way, you will need a visa to enter China. Available same day from agencies in Kowloon.

Yes, it is possible for a day trip to Shenzen. I have done it. Recommend that you take the fast train from Kowloon Tong to Lowu, China. Kowloon Tong is can reached by MRT.

Once you cross immigration to China at Lowu, there are enough English signs. Take the a bus to Wndows of The World. I haven't tried the MRT but the bus stop right at the front of the Park. On your right hand-side and a great way to see the skyline of Shenzen on bus. There are two adjourning parks, Splendid China and Cultural Village worth going to.

Oops... I mean on the left hand side (not right side) of the bus.
In Hong Kong, driving is on the left like UK. But in China it is on the right like France.

The bus will have a sign going to Windows of the World and the driver will stop there.

While in downtown, it is worth going to the Shun Hing Square, currently the 9th tallest build in the world, if it is a clear day. You can have a panoramic view of Shenzhen at the observation level on the top floor. There is also a food court at the base.

How feasible is it to visit Minsk World on a day trip from Hong Kong?

Minsk World is located on the eastern side of Shenzhen, and several bus routes go there. So in thory a day trip is entirely feasible, although I've not done it myself.

However currently day-visa are not being issued, nor will be until after October 17th. Or so I read in this week's Time Out: Beijing.
