Does anyone know if it possible for just one person to join an existing group to hike the 2 or 4 day Inca trail. Where can I sign up?

Hey,
Sure. Just go to a tour operator and they will put you with a group. I was there in January and my buddy and I signed up for the 4 day jungle hike to MP. We were with a group of around 20 and had a blast. This was one of the alternative hikes because the original 4 day Inca Trail hike we signed up for was booked. Our first day was mountin biking and then days 2 and 3 were hiking. We stayed in little hostels at night and had dinner in cafes instead of camping out. Great experience so do it and enjoy! Tom

When I was there I just went into a tour company right on the main square in Cusco, and signed up for the following day. Can't remember their name though.
