| Manila | 12 hours in Manila Posted: Thu March 13, 2008 03:31 PM UTC
I am arriving on 14th april on an Air Asia flight from Kuala Lumpur and departing the same night on a Continental flight to Guam.
Air Asia arrives at Clark. CO leaves from International Airport.at 10 55 pm I am told that there is a shuttle between Clark and International Airport, with a stop over in some shopping centre. I would appreciate any suggestions and helpful advice how to spend a few hours, away from the airport. Is it possible to engage a taxi or a cab for a few hours to go around Manila, is it worth it, because of the time schedule? I am interested in Museums, Good Food and Bookstores. Thanks in advance. |

There are some great places in Clark where you can spend time. If you'll go to Manila from Clark, you'll be travelling for approximately 4-5 hours depending on the traffic so it is not probably worth the travel.
here is the website which might help you decide what to do and where to go when you are in Clark. http://www.clarksubicmarketing.com/clark_travel_guide.htm hope it helps.

At Clark (called CLARK FREEPORT ZONE), there's a huge SM MALL,lots of duty free shops, also CASINO FILIPINO,an animal sanctuary,CLARK Museum, Nayong Pilipino,or go kart racing, water sports, etc. if you get sick of shopping.

Manila is really crowded, beware of pick pockets in some areas and also massive traffic jam. So time factor is critical to ensure you catch your connection. I have been to Glorietta in Makati - great place to shop and eat, and Rizal Park.

uhm.. you've got helpful infos there. mine is just an additional. If by miracle you're staying longer (in Manila) you shouldn't miss our National Museum (Finance BUilding). It's along Ayala Boulevard beside Luneta Park.

the flight of air asia will arrive at 11am somethin...then the shuttle will be there for about 45 minutes waiting for passenger...then it will directly go to manila...cubao or their respective bus terminals, no stop over in between...Fare is P380/- From there u have to take cab goin to airport....be very careful in Manila even in dealing with cab drivers...
can u just post again a question about any decent and respected taxi / cab operator in the phil and have their number...and call them to pick u up from the bus station/terminal in Manila....because its not same with KL taxi facility....i traveled there, its well organized and the taxi driver became my friend .... u can just negotiate with the cab driver on a city tour of manila, avoid crowded places.... makati will be fine , i guess.... be careful with ur belongings in manila, hope it helps...
