My boyfriend and are are going on vacation in 2 weeks to cancun. We jsut decided to elope while we are there. I read somewhere that you can't get married in Mexico Easter week. Is this true and why?

I would guess the Priest in Catholic Churches might be too busy to marry at this time but if you would like Reverend Moonbeam to officiate, they may be of service.

i think what that means is you can't get married during lent in the catholic church---which easter week in mexico is technically the last week of lent. i'm sure you could get married by a non-denominational reverend type of person. while most of mexico is catholic, i'm sure in cancun, like vegas, you can find non-catholic wedding chapels.

There are also alot of rules for getting married in Mexico. Blood Tests, Chest X-rays are just some of them.

Check the laws of the country you reside in as you may not be legally married once you return.
