Hello Louise
I'm afraid it is not clear to who you are addressing this question -if you have seen a reference to a pub that you like the sound of in another Forum thread you really need to cind the thread and ask another question there so that the previous posters will see it. I have had a quick look through the Sligo Forum but did not find anything that fits your query.

I think you must mean McHugh's Bar - just found the Tip on the Sligo page. The Tip was left in May last year but if you go back to it you will see - under the name of the person who wrote the tip "Email Me" so you could try that and ask your question directly.

what pub has a formal dress code ? - none worth visiting that I've been to.
Some pubs may refuse entry for those in 'workman's clothes' or in jeans / trainers if it is doubling as a disco. Unless it is a private function then the idea of 'formal dress' is anathema to pub culture.

There are very few bars in Sligo with a dress code and McHughs is not one of them if that is the bar you mean. It's a great, chilled out night out and you can go in pretty much anything. I would wear shoes everywhere in Sligo on a Friday - Sunday rather than trainers.
