Waterbury Waterbury Amtrak - Ben & Jerry factory
Posted: Wed March 12, 2008 02:00 AM UTC
Is there a way to get from the WAB Amtrak station to the Ben & Jerry's ice cream factory without a car? Would it be possible to walk or take a cab?

Thanks!

There is Cab service in Waterbury. Even though I am from that part of the world, I am not sure if Amtrak stops in Waterbury. If they do, it is only about 3 or 4 miles to Ben & Jerry's plant.

Amtrack does not stop in Waterbury, unfortunately. It stops in Montpelier which is about 30 miles away. Sorry to say you would need to rent a car in Montpelier. Be prepared to find that the Montpelier station is a small place with no nearby rental car offices. You would have to have a car reserved and pick it up in the center of Montpelier. If you are visiting Vermont you should check my site- same as my user name.

Yes, Amtrak stops in Waterbury. I live there 6 months of the year, was born and raised there. You COULD walk but as someone said it is about 3 miles from the train station to B&J. The local cab info is C & L Taxi Phone: (802) 244-6311.

If you'd like any other info about the area, let me know. Its a beautiful area.
