| Geneva | Advice on buying watches in Geneva Posted: Tue March 11, 2008 03:49 PM UTC
I am an automatic watch fanatic, and will be in Geneva for a meeting 4/23-4/27. I am preparing myself to avoid buying an expensive watch, although I have a feeling i will not be able to resist.
Any advice about buying from Geneva with the euro being so high, or is it a good deal by saving on taxes in the US? Any advice on tours to watch industry, best stores to buy from, etc... |

Switzerland has the Swiss franc rather than the Euro and I am afraid your US$ is not going to go particularly far this year - I am returnig to USa for first timein several years this Spring and was thinking about buying a watch there! However not everything in Geneva is expensive and ousideof a couple of favourites in Italy it is just aboutmy favourite spot in Europe. Do see La Maison de L'Horlogerie at rue de Cendrierand Patek Philippe Museum, check www.patekmuseum.com, and go see the working floral clock at Jardin Anglais.
