I'm going back to Egypt next week after 7 years. Like them, I and my family are travelling on our own. Last time it was easy to buy tickets to enter the pyramids on the spot. We went early. Don't know if things are still the same. I'm not very keen on joining a tour as we want to take our time and many tours don't even include entering the pyramids. This is a must as it is a promise to my 7 year old son. This trip is for him.
Information anyone? Thanks a lot!

It is permitted from time to time, but not same pyramid all the time.

I know. Last time we visited two. This time I want only one. My question is if it's still easy to get tickets without going on a tour.

Yes you can. As you are aware the entry ticket of the area (Plataeu) is 50 LE = about 9 US$

I have visited nov last year,Still its not difficult to buy tkts on spot..first you have to buy the tkts for pyramids area upon which you can see the pyramids closer but outside.if u need to go inside the the pyramids (inside chambers) you have to buy another tkt, available easily at the spot..but entering inside the pyramid is not a comfortable task though its not crowded..you have to bend down or crawl, too much sophocastion specially in summers..i have seen many tourist returning back half way.. you must carry the water with you if you really intend to go inside.
