| Liverpool | Rooms group 23 persons in May Posted: Tue March 11, 2008 09:59 AM UTC
Hello,
I'm planning a trip for our company and I need tips om accommodation for a group of 23 people. One singleroom One 4-beds room (or two double) 9 double... We are on a tight budget but like to stay as close to communication to the city as possible, or in the city... We also would like to know if there is any event/sightseeing or other fun things to do as teambuilding? The group is mostly men, engineers, working as buildning designers... Both young and middleage... |

hi,
You could try looking at Traveloge - www.travelodge.co.uk - they can be reasonably priced (sometimes having room 'sales') and have two hotels in Liverpool; one a few minutes walk from Lime St. train station and another about 2 miles away (but walkable, and on bus routes into the centre). They also do bookings for larger groups like yours. For other accommodation and events info have a look at www.visitliverpool.com

Hi there!
I'm not sure about accomodation but there are plenty of hotels and the city is a great place to be at the moment, there is lots of good restaurants and the nightlife is brilliant, something for everyone! If your looking for a fun teambuilding thing to do then "Go Ape" is popular at the moment but you would have to catch a train to Ellesmere Port in the Wirral area (about 25mins from Liverpool Central). There website is http://www.goape.co.uk/ and although the Ellesmere Port location isn't listed it does exist so your probably best calling them! Plus if your going to liverpool you should really take a trip around the Albert Dock and enjoy a few beers or cocktails whilst getting a few souveniers for back home! Enjoy!

Hi, The cheapest city centre accomodation can be found on the waterfront. Have a look at the YHA www.YHA.org.uk. This is a fairly new cheap and cheerful travel hostel. For something a bit more expensive try www.hotelformula1.com or the Ibis Hotel or Express Hoiday Inn on the Albert Dock. Going a bit more up market try the Thistle Atlantic Tower Hotel. This is medium range hotel recently refurbished. All of these are in close proximity to each other so if necessary you could split up if getting rooms proves problematic. In terms of fun things to do the Cains Brewery Tour is close by or you could take part in a pub quiz or set an outdoor quiz about the city (happy to help)If your mobile a trip out to a golf driving range, or a trip to the chill Factore just outside Manchester for some skiing or luge is good fun http://www.chillfactore.com/flash.asp My Liverpool page might also give you some ideas.

You could also try the Campanile at the Albert Dock which is quite cheap or the formula one hotel is also quite a good budget option. There is loads going on in the city at the moment, visit www.liverpool08.com to see what is happening whilst you are here. As for Ricky 52's comments, has he had a good look at Halifax recently with it's boarded up shops in the city centre, I know where I feel safer and prefer to be.
