I plan stay at Jaipur for a few days. Is it possible to have one day trip to Pushkar?
Is there bus from Jaipur direct to Pushkar? How long it take?

There are buses from Jaipur to Ajmer and there you change into frequent buses to Pushkar. Buses go until late in the evening and Pushkar is a small place so leaving early a day trip should be okay.

Going for a day may not be sufficient. However it is possible to go and come back same day. There are plenty of buses, private taxis etc.

I would suggest that if you go by bus then it will take a bit longer than 2hr 30 mentioned in one of the previous answer. However, don't be put off by the logistics of it, Pushkar is well worth a visit - I loved it there.

Pushkar offers its own kind of night life, hence if possible I would suggest you to stop there for a night. However coming and going from Jaipur is absolutely comfortable. There are normal and delux buses plying. Avoid private transport and take only the Government Transport corporation's bus.

Pushkar has its own vibration and life style.

From Jaipur to Pushkar there are 5 dicrect buses in a day and one is delux other is 2 are semi deluxe and 2 buses are express category.
To catch these buses from Jaipur you have to go to Govt.bus stand called localy "Sindhi Camp", the central bus stand.

From here you can enquire about them.
The earliest bus leaves at 6.30 in the morning and last bus is at 9 o clock in the evening.
