Curaçao Curacao to Bonaire and Aruba - cost and means
Posted: Tue March 11, 2008 03:54 AM UTC
My plans are to arrive in Suriname, from there go to Guyana, then fly to Curacao. From Curacao I would go to Aruba and Bonaire by boat. These are simply a rough idea of what I want to do, I do need any imput on how to make this work.

I am interested in knowing the best way to get to Guyana from Suriname. Are there any buses or trains that make that route, and if so how long and about how much would it cost. Id rather do a bus or train but if I have to fly I guess I have no choice.

Also, I know LIAT airlines flys from Guyana to Curacao via Trinidad. Is this the best way to get to the ABC islands?

And last, how easy is it to take a fiary or boat to each island, from Aruba to Bonaire and to Curacao? How about the cost?

Thanks!

We were in Aruba in December 2007 and everything I read suggested that you could not travel from Aruba to either Bonaire or Curacao by boat. When we inquired about doing a daytrip via airplane, it was very expensive but it may be cheaper if you are just looking for a flight.

As far as I know, there is no commercial boat connection between the the A-B-C islands, anymore. There used to be a ferry, the Chogogo, but they stopped some years ago. I am afraid you will have to fly between Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao. The flights are short (around 15 minutes), and oompared to thatr the fares may seem high (from Curacao US$82 for Bonaire and US$122 for Aruba).

http://www.fly-inselair.com/ : US$299 from Curaçao to Suriname, i am not sure about the fare from Suriname to Curaçao.

Glad to be of some help! Please get in touch, while visiting!
Please note that if you want to visit Aruba or Bonaire for just one day, you could book only a flight. All inclusive day trips will be costier. You could rent a car on the spot at the airports (be sure you book in advance for the special holidays, when there will be no cars or rooms for rent at last minute!!). For instance: April 30 is the celebration of the Queen's birthday throughout the Netherlands and all islands of the Netherlands Antilles, and preceeding a long 5 day-holiday from April 30 to May 4(including Labour Day and Ascension Day)!! All planes between the islands, and hotels and B&B will most probably be full!
Also: Most jewish entrepeneurs will close their shops on jewish feast days, like Pesach, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, but the rest of the shops will be open.
If in doubt, please get in touch.
