Plitvicka Jezera National Park Travel Forum

My wife and I will be traveling in Croatia in 10 days! We were wondering if it is possible to get from Zagreb to Plitvice National Park (we are staying at the Hotel Jezero) and then from Plitvice National Park to Split by bus. We really do not want to rent a car. Any help is much appreciated! Hvala!

We had a car and it was actually quite cheap but you will be glad to know you have 4 or 5 very knowledgeable people on here that respond to Croatia questions. Good luck and stay with VT, it is invaluable.

Yes--quite easily.
The bus will drop you off right at the hotel(s) (the 2nd park stop). Ask at the hotel for the bus times to Split to avoid having to wait at the stop too long. Enjoy!

You can easily reach Plitvice by bus, and continue by bus to Split.
For bus timetables from Zagreb check www.akz.hr (Zagreb bus station).
Just make sure to tell the driver to stop at Entrance No. 2 (Ulaz Dva) - he will most probably offer to stop at the first entrance (coming from Zagreb) but this is far from hotels. Entrance No. 2 is next to hotel Jezero.

Hi The bus services the area. We had 2 nights at your hotel in October 2005 and had a great time. It was cold early morning and at 9 am there was ice at the park entrance. Take some warm clothes as I expect March could be very cold. I have many photos on my page.

I am just glad you came back to read the responses, so many do not. A car is nice to have in Croatia but the roads are narrow and winding with nice big cliffs and lots of wind. My husband drove, I would have never!
