It's a decent location. It is right along Granville Street which is where there are a ton of bars, night clubs, pubs, $1 a slice pizza places as well as trendy restaurants. It may be a bit loud if you're looking for somewhere that's no quiet and relaxing.
Which sort of attractions were you looking to visit?

Hi there...I have stayed at the Comfort Inn you mention and I wrote a VT tip with 5 photos here:

Another reasonably priced hotel (<$150 during peak season) in that area is the Century Plaza Hotel. It is off of Granville in case you wanted a bit more peace and quiet, but close to everything. It's also a pretty nice hotel with a nice lounge in the lobby that's usually busy on the weekends. There's also Yuk Yuk's comedy lounge in the hotel as well which is great if you like comedy.
Both of the hotels are right in the centre of downtown. That means you're within walking distance of tourist attractions like Granville Island, Canada Place, Science World, any of the stadiums/arenas, Gas Town, Yaletown. It's also close enough to walk to Stanley Park and Vancouver Aquarium or you can just bus out there. For shopping you can hop on the Skytrain and go to Metrotown or your hotel will be close to Robson Street. Not sure what other attractions are in Vancouver.. I probably take most of it for granted :) If you need any other suggestions/info, let me know.
