I notice that the weather in Colombo is heavy rain, and has been for quite some time now. Is this likely to continue?

The reason I ask is that my fiance and I will be having our wedding in Sri Lanka (Beruwela to be exact) on the 26th March and would obviously prefer sunny weather. But looking at the forecast, are we likely to be soaked on our special day?

Is this current weather normal and should we just expect heavy rain for the week that we're there?

No, this aint really normal but only predictable thing about Sri Lanka’s weather is its unpredictability, in theory March should not be too bad, its been wet recently but it can clear up over the next few weeks and I’m sure it will. Don’t worry, you’ll have a fabulous time.......

Should be quite good weather during this period at beruwala.... As maxus says nothing is predictable as far as the weather goes, but dont worry. God tends to look at you in these special days, and give you a sunny day

The weather has been inconsistent, to give you an actual report on it. Today is nice and sunny, yesterday was nice and sunny until about 4.30 p.m rained heavily but it cleared up in an hour or two.

Late March is generally very good, cause we are moving towards the hottest time of the year, April ! but the unpredictability factor remains.

Believe that it will be a good day and God will oblige.

Thanks to all of you. This has calmed me down slightly. Especially since we have friends and family coming over too. Didn't want the whole thing to be a total wash out!

I am in Beruwela just now, the days are hot and sunny and around 5.30ish each the rain comes on for about 30 mins or so - it clears the air, so don't worry, I'm sure it will be fine for you.Where about in Beruwela is your wedding?
