Ko Tao From Koh Samui to Koh Tao
Posted: Mon March 10, 2008 04:35 PM UTC
I am planning to go to Koh Tao from Koh Samui and heard that I can take a speed boat across. Anyone have any info on this like how long it takes, what time and how much it cost and whereabouts in Koh Samui I can get the ride?

It is definitely possible to take a speed boat from Samui to Tao. There are multiple ones leaving daily from Samui's main pier. Several companies all go along that route, so you should not have a problem finding one. They leave about every 90 minutes, starting at 8am, and the time to Koh Tao is about 75 minutes depending on water conditions. When I was last there the price was not too bad, about 80B, but don't quote me on that, it might have changed.

have a look on travelfish.org
you'll find maps , routes, prices etc. some of the ferry companies have websites so you may be able to check out more details .
we travelled from ko samui in november on Lomprayah ferry , took about hour and half , cannot remember price, but not at all expensive.
hope this helps.
