| Ko Phi Phi Don | Ko Phi Phi Don Accomodations & Night life Posted: Mon March 10, 2008 03:57 AM UTC
So I'm heading to Ko Phi Phi w/ my sister for a week from April 6-12. We are looking for a reasonably nice place to stay. At first we were thinking the Andaman Beach Resort but after reading these forums I see thats not a good idea. I'd like to find a place thats moderately priced ($600-$800 for the week) and relatively close to a night life. Was also considering the Phi Phi Natural Resort???
Also, is it difficult getting around to different parts of the island. I don't really have a good perception for distances and travel methods on the island. Any help/information would be much appreciated. Thanks! |

I stayed at PP Casita when I was there in Dec. Its a beautiful hotel and I would strongly recommend it. We paid 1200 THB per night in Dec for a fan bungalow. You will need an A/C bungalow in April as it was substantially hot in Dec when we went. You can check my travelpages for some pictures as well. We booked through Global reservations. It was fairly convenient. As far as getting around on Phi Phi is concerned, you need to either walk or cycle. Its a tiny island so everywhere can be easily reached by walking. If you wish to go to Phi Phi Leh, you will need to hire a long tail boat. Hope this helps.

We stayed in the Phi Phi island village in a bungalow. It was really beautiful but pretty expensive. We also stayed at the Phi Phi Natural resort but wasn't impressed. It def isn't worth the money

Phi Phi has two main islands. The smaller one is not inhabited but where all the tourists go for boat day trip of swimming, snorkelling and scuba.
The bigger island has a very small flat land strip between two bays and it is really small, walking distance. For me, staying one week in Phi Phi may be too long. I would spend some time at Krabi and Phuket. They are all a boat ride away from Phi Phi.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I just booked at P.P Casita for under $350 for 6 nights in a twin w/ AC.
I'll let you know how it turns out.
