Hiya

There are day rooms at the hotel and they are fine ($50) but you have too much time to hang around the airport so (assuming you don’t have a visa issue) you can get out and find a hotel, no problem.

I wouldn’t bother with Colombo, the resort of Negombo is less than 30 minutes from the airport and has dozens of beachside hotels in every price range (all of who will arrange an airport pick up).

You can check-in at somewhere to suit you, have a look round the city followed by a swim in the pool and a drink before dinner. You can then catch a few hours sleep before heading back to the airport in the morning.

Regards
Mark

Hi,

You have a nice full afternoon and evening ! I guess as mark has suggested you can stay at Negombo. and yes you might be able to get accomadation starting from 20$ depending on what you want.

Colombo is also not a bad option if its your first time to Sri Lanka, after all its the main city. you might just be able to check out a few places.

Cheers,
