| Las Vegas | nightlife Posted: Sun March 9, 2008 07:32 PM UTC
Hi there!
I'm visiting LV this summer for 5 nights, I'm from the UK and just looking for any information on nightlife. Apart from studio 54 at the MGM and LAX at luxor I've not got a clue, are they expensive? where else would you suggest? Thank u Sarah x |

Vegas is all about nightlife. When searching for a hotel I would recommend something in the main strip - I prefer the Venetian. The Rio, for instance, is nice but is quite out of the way and you lose quite a bit of time taking the shuttle to the strip.
Venetian: http://www.venetian.com/HomePage.aspx Harrah's owns several properties in Vegas including the Rio - rates are shown in this one page as well: http://www.harrahs.com/destinations/las-vegas/hote Flamingo and Ceasar's are among the oldest, although Caesar's has multiplied in size. If you *don't* mind being a bit farther Rio is OK, and they have a Voodoo Lounge upstairs with a disco (so do all places in Vegas). Only cool thing about the Rio is that you get carnival beads when you arrive. You should also go check downton, the original Vegas scene - it will have more of a western feel. You can easily get from the strip to the downtown area in the Deuce bus. Not sure what else to say. Oh, the Paris makes me dizzy - the ceiling is painted with clouds, but they're little too low to the ground (the Venetian also has clouds in a portion of it and it does not have that same effect) - this is just personal, but I did not like feeling dizzy at the Paris. If you stay at the Venetian and need to buy any conveniences (water, aspirin, etc), if you turn right with your back to the Venetian and walk about six blocks there will be a Walgreen's drug store. Enjoy!

Ghost Bar
Rain Moon Pure Tryst There's a lot, but those were some of my favorites. I had a VIP pass and it really helped out. Some of those lines were 2 hours long. My aunt is a high roller in Vegas, so she got them for free. However, I think they are affordable, maybe around $100. If there are other girls traveling with you and are moderately good looking, you could probally go straight to the bouncer and say we'll give you a kiss on your cheek if you let us in. I've seen it done before lol. Enjoy!

I didn't think it would work for me either, but of course I didn't try. Maybe at a Palm Springs club. There are many clubs in LV. Some are more "clubby" than others. There are also many bars where they play just good music to dance to. One is at the Bellagio, but I forgot the name.

haha @ Palm Springs, were you thinking of The Bank at the Bellagio?
I'd say there is more than a 50% chance it will work haha, give it a try. The girls I were with did it twice and it worked both times. Your display picture seems like you shouldn't have a problem, unless they are gay haha.

Checkout www.lasvegas.com, the "nightlife" section. Has a good listing of the clubs and contact info.
If you know the exact days you'll be in Vegas, email the particular clubs you want to go to and let them know where your visiting form, what days you are visiting and want to go to their club. Some of my guy friends did this and they were put on "the list" so no waiting in lines. Not sure if this will work for all clubs. As mentioned being a women and looking "sexy" will get you in more often than not. However, if you have guys with you it will probably not work. Pure in Ceasars Blush in the Wynn Tao in the Venetian Body English in the Hard Rock Clubs in Las Vegas a fairly expensive. Cover charges range from $20-$30. Drinks will run you $15 and up not including tip.

I had to stay at the Rio (company conference) and I went to the Voodoo lounge without a cover charge and they let me in without any problems (maybe he liked older women he he). I did need to call the club from upstairs and ask them to be placed - so if stay in one of the big casinos I don't think you should need to pay a cover charge ... but then again, I go there once - twice a year for work.

Bellagio Hotel is truly the Best. It is gorgeous, right in the middle of the strip. and one of the best night clubs Light is located inside it. Keep in mind... summer is butally hot in Vegas... because it is located in the middle of desert. Hence, you are better off staying in a hotel, which has everything...so, you don't have to go outside too much. (Some hotels look like a big city ... so, there is plenty to do indoors for the entire day... you find gardens, fountains, shopping, restaurants, clubs, casinos..LOTS OF EVERYTHING...and, again... in summer, because of very hot weathr.. you will be much happier staying in a nicer hotel, where you can spend more time inside of it.
