Hi there,

I am trying to purchase the sj train ticket online from Stockholm to Copenhagen.

In the final part when doing payment, they requested for a phone number and it seems that they do not accept using my home country phone number. Can anyone help as I do not have a Sweden phone number and what are the alternatives can I do to purchase the sj train tickets?

I prefer to purchase online beforehand instead of going over to purchase it. But if no choice, will the ticket price will more expensive worst still unavailable when I go over there personally to purchase it. Anyone please assist. Thanks!

From what I can see, leaving a phone number isn't mandatory. What happens if you don't write it, can you move on and buy the ticket? If not, send me a PM with the info and I'll contact SJ on your behalf.

I read on their site that if you want to have a electronic ticket ("Biljettlöst med ID") you need to be able to identify yourself on the train with Swedish drivers license or Swedish ID card or EU passport. So booking the ticket and then collecting the ticket at the station before departure might be an option, you probably could fill out a fake phonenr (area code for Stockholm is 08).

You should definitely buy the ticket as soon as possible, otherwise they will probably be more expensive and possibly sold out.

SJ is a Govnerment operated company, not the most flexible in the world.

Thanks all for your advice and help. I've finally managed to booked thru the sj trian ticket online. Guess what, you just need to enter 00 - 00000000 in the phone column and it goes thru.
