I can only add a little to this question.
Many Filipinos go to OTHER countries to make a decent income! So, it would depend on if the wages you get in the Philippines would be a step up or a step back. Since you are asking about cost of living for the Philippines I am assuming you are not from that country. There are visa requirements to consider too! If you work for a local Filipino company or a foreign company will make a difference in your salary. Then you have to sell yourself as being better than a Filipino applying for the same job. Think about it, would your countrymen hire a foreigner to fill a job over a local? Many foreigners do move to the P.I. for retirement where their American or European retirement pensions can support them a little easier than back in their own countries. http://www.payscale.com/research/PH/Country=Philippines/Salary http://www.livinginthephilippines.com/cost_of_living/manila.html http://www.moveandstay.com/manila/info_info_for_expatriates.asp http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200803 Good luck.

it would all depend on the city you want to stay in. if you'll stay in makati or ortigas or any city where there are lots of commercial activities then cost of living is pretty expensive than in other cities. but then it depends on how much u'll earn right?
education in pretty cheap too compared to most countries. that is why we have lots of foreigners in universities right now like koreans.

hi, hope this info is not too late..
just to give you a (very) rough estimate: Rentals: a 2-storey, 2bedroom apartment costs about 6k to 10k. that's about 30 sq meters, or less, if you want something more spacious, extend your budget to abt 15k education in a decent private school would be about 20-40k, high school and elementary. it really depends on the quality and reputation of the school.. if you want an international school though, of course it costs a lot more. groceries for a family of 4.. that's a tough one.. i would say about 5-10thousand per month, depending on your consumption Ü transportation is cheap if you want to commute (here, that means board jeepneys, tricycles, buses), but that's a lot of hassle, especially if you're not used to the heat and traffic of manila. it's a lot more convenient if you would just have your own car and gas up.
