Hi im going to Fiji in June and planning to spend one night in Nadi on arrival then go to an Island.?? which one??
Im there for 8 nights with 3 other people. I have been looking around and fancy going to Mamanuca Islands. Does anyone please know if it would be worth basing overselves at Manu Island and going on day trips to the smaller ones around it?? OR Which Island is best to go on and travel to ones around it?? OR Which Islands within Mamanuca are definites to go to?? Would be very grateful for replies, thank you!! Katie xx |

Hi Katie!
I lived in Fiji for 3 years from 2002-2005. Among the Mamanuca Islands, I've only stayed in the Treasure Island, which was quite nice. From most of the islands there, I think it's easy to visit other islands. You might also want to consider doing a cruise to the Yasawas. It's very beautiful there! I guess you've decided to do the Mananuca Islands, but my favourite by far is the Toberua Island, which is on the eastern side of the main island. We went there 16 times or so within 3 years! The food there was just amazing and staff was super friendly. Hope you'll like it there! Hoamai

I'm not sure why this posting ended up on the Canada forum, but you may want to try re-posting it where you meant it to be.
I've been to Fiji, but unfortunately, not to any of the places you were asking about. I can highly recommend the island of Taveuni, to the east, for diving. But, I flew out there and if you are looking to do more than dive then this might not be the best place. Fiji is a very friendly and beautiful place. And, it was very affordable compared with other south pacific desitinations. Enjoy!
