how easy is it to find accommodation through the gambia without prior booking? Also, is there accomodation for prices at or below 15euro a night?..... im not too fussy where or what.

I think that you will find that The Gambia is not what you would call a backpacker type of holiday.
Most of the hotels will be tied in with tour operators and trying to find accommodation when you arrive might be a problem.
I would have thought that you will get nothing for the kind of money you are thinking about.

almost every second compound in Kololi is a guesthouse or offering rooms. I like to book on advance because you have to bargain about the price. For the amount you take into consideration you may find a room in a family compound. I paid roughly that in november and had a seperate entrance, sleeping room, bathroom and kitchen. Water and current is never stable! But the family is very friendly, the owner is a bird watcher and tourist guide. Call 00220 98 15 108 and ask for Faks.
