| Bucharest | Looking for a flatshare or room to sublet in Bucharest Posted: Sat March 8, 2008 10:57 AM UTC
Hi,All,
I plan on going to Bucharest within a few weeks for travel, and,to look for work teaching English,if that's possible. Anybody know of a way,or a where to find something like this(flatshare)? I've looked online, and, can't find any information in regards to that. I thank you in advance, and await any and all replies. Tony |

I am also going in a few weeks, but I have friends to stay with. There are Hostels there if they would fit your needs. Look at Hostel world.com, or hostelz.com. If you don't find anything write to my VTmail address and I might be able to help you.

You might try your school or university's dorms / hostels. Most universities in town have (at least) one. Otherwise contact a hostel and ask for a long stay rate. The Villa 11 or Butterfly Villa might help. If not, book a cheap hotel for the first few nights, and do some on site research for studios (Ro. garsoniere) to rent. Expect to pay around EUR 200-500 per month, according to the area the studio is in, and to the endowments provided / state of the place. Bucharest is not cheap real estate-wise, because of the fact that demand is still (much) higher than offer.

I just contacted Craigslist to set up an account for Bucharest..hoping it will catch on here.
I don't speak Romanian - and its impossible to find stuff out if its all in Romanian and you only speak english. (actually my french has been quite helpful). I suggest a long stay hotel, my sisters were here for a week and found a reasonal hotel in the Romania Lonely Planet. Good luck - you'll love it here anyway.
