I am visting San Jose CR for a convention, I would like to book a hotel close it (walking distance if possible) "The Barceló San Jose Palacio" - location of the convention. Its close to La Sabana park. Also please advice me on the best mode of travel in the city, I am not looking for luxury.... so any decent hotel would do.

Also let me know how much taxi fare from the airport would be.

Any help and suggestions greatly appriciated.

Check out the Apartotel La Sabana or Apartotel Cristina. Both have decent rates and breakfast included in the price.

It would take you about 15-20 minutes to get there from the International Airport. I would check with the hotel prior to going there to see how much a cab would cost.

My recommendation is Apartotel La Sabana, very decent and some rooms w/kitchenet. A taxi fare from the Airport will be around $20 for the ride from 1 to 4 people.
