Provincia de San José Day trip from Alajuela
Posted: Sat March 8, 2008 07:46 AM UTC
Hi
We will arrive on a friday afternoon in July in San José Airport and stay two nights in Alajuela before flying to Palmar Sur with Nature Air. I have been in San José/Alajuela several times, have seen Poás, Waterfall Gardens, City of San José, and now I don’t know what I shall do that remaining day. Is it worth going to Irazú when we saw Poás? I’m not interested in Sarchi’s ox carts, and I am travelling with a teenage boy.
Can I get by public transportation from Alajuela to the airport of Pavas? Or how much would a taxi been from Alajuela?
Thanks for your help

Have you considered going to Turubari Tropical Park?

I have not been here yet, but I am thinking to include this in our vacation plans.
Also, you may consider an ATV day tour, a trip to Zarcero or to Los Angeles Cloud Forest Reserve.

Grecia sounds like a nice little town near there. I have not been there but from reading it sounds very local, small, and pleasant. The House of snakes is there. Maybe a teenage boy would like that. I think there are waterfalls just outside of town. This is really cose to Sarchi but sounds like that is not your kind of thing.

There is also a coffee plantation as an option.

I have never spent time in the area. I fly in and get out right away so the beach.
