We are visting Alice Springs in June. We do not have a car and would like to know if anyone know's if there is a tour or public transport from Alice Springs to Gemtree Caravan Park as we want to go on the fossicking tour they have there. So far I have not been able to find anyone online who does a tour from Alice Springs or any public transport to the caravan park. Thanks ginger22

Check out VTveens wonderful pages and tips of his travels all around there - might be some help - or drop him a line.
a car is basically the best though to take in the wonderful array of sights around the area - not as upmarket and expensive as the one in vtveens tips - look for a cheaper company perhaps as well - but much recommended way to do it. All the best.

There is definately no public transport as such. Hire car would be your best option (no such thing as cheap hire car though) Cheers
