Hello, everyone. I will be in Sydney and have a free day on March 13. I am planning to visit the Opera House, Circular Quay and nearby on foot. Also, I'd like to go to one of the beaches, if I still have time - which one is close by? Btw, anyone wants to join me, u r welcome.

Gorgeous Golden Retriever there...
If you do the Botanical Gardens and Opera House, I'd suggest taking the ferry to Manly from Circular Quay. It's a 30min ride each way, and it's one of the nicest boat rides you can imagine. I'd suggest getting there 20min before the ferry leaves (they leave every 30minutes) and getting a good seat on the outdoor deck upstairs. Walk down the corso to Manly Beach, and you can do an amazing walk...just hit the path and make a right down to Shelley Beach. Just next to Shelley Beach is a great little Nature Reserve that will take only 20min to walk around - nice views to the ocean. Back by the ferry wharf, try to grab a nice beer at Manly Wharf Bar. If you can time your ferry back from Manly with a west sunset as you approach the Opera House, you'll have some pretty amazing photos. Enjoy!

I agree with all points above. Manly would be the best option- you get a great view of the opera house from the Ferry and can take in views of the opera house, harbour bridge and north head. Manly is lovely.

I totally agree on what has been written here, Manly is beautiful and the views from the Manly ferry is to die for. Sydney has the morst beautiful harbour in the world, so remember to bring your camera :)

Many would be the best option as the previous posters have pointed out.
You get the best views when your riding the Ferry towards Manly. The other option is Bondi Beach. You can take the bus or take a cab to go there. Its roughly about 15 min drive depending on traffic and that. Youll be travelling through the eastern suburbs of Sydney. By name, Bondi beach has a bigger status name in the tourism industry but preferably I like Manly. Just more things to go and more shops lined up parralel to the beach.

Or you can catch bus 370 from the city to Coogee which is a lovely beach- and you can walk to bondi along the cliffs. You can have a drink at the well known Coogee beach hotel. Its about a 20min bus ride

Hi Whilst at Circular quay catch the Manly Ferry to Manly, the famous beach is less than 10 minutes walk from the Manly Ferry terminal. Whilst on the ferry tyou will have a half hour to view many parts of Sydney Harbour.
Good Luck, Mike
