| Stockholm | Going to Stockholm and Copenhagen on April 2008 Posted: Sat March 8, 2008 01:23 AM UTC
Hi anyone,
I'll be going to Stockholm and Copenhagen on April 2008 with my wife. Fight confirmed but not accommodation. Anyone can recommend any cheap/budget stay for 2 person? We are looking for a double private room (If possible). Will be planning to stay in Stockholm for 4-5 days before going to Copehagen for another 4-5 days. Anyone knows the best way to Copenhagen from Stockholm (Fly or Train)? Cost & duration? Besides Stockholm & Copenhagen, I am also thinking of visiting the snow mountain (if time and cost permits). Where is the nearest snow mountain from Stockholm? Any advice on the above are really much appreicated. Thanks in advance. Regards, Lim |

Between Copenhagen and Stockholm you can either take the train (about 5 hours trip) or fly. Go to http://www.sj.se/sj/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=10&l=en to check out train fares, schedules, etc.
If you want to fly there's Sterling and Fly Nordic which are cheaper than SAS. Cost wise, there's not much difference in train or fly fare (I've only flown to Copenhagen with SAS) but that depends on how much in advance you can book, if you're flexible and if there's a deal going on.

Hi!
For room (since I live here this isn´t any places I have tried myself), but take a look at the following site. I have used hostelworld in other countries and it has always worked out well : http://www.hostelworld.com/findabed.php/Hostels/Stockholm/Sweden The easiest and cheapest way must be flying to Copenhagen. Takes about 1 hour + check in time. Try Flynordic Basic, prices in middle of April appr 27-30€: https://www.flynordic.com/ Tere isn´t much snow in Sweden this year, but I know at least the Sälen mountains has it. They just launched Wasaloppet and there were snow also in the woods around Sälen. The journey takes at least half a day each direction to Sälen. Maybe there are snow closer to Stockholm – anyone? Happy travelling! /Karin, Stockholm

Maybe Vemdalen?
Total flight time Cph-Arn is 1h10 + check-in time, at least in my experience with SAS. I think you can check-in online and choose your seat with the other airlines, and if you can, then you just proceed to drop the baggage on the baggage drop counter and then go to security check/gate.
