there is only one busline that goes from manila to bontoc.. its the cable tours (0918-521-6790)

it is found at E.rodriguez QC. in front of the gate of the Trinity College..
the bus starts 8:00 pm (12 hours ride) it will pass by some banaue rice terraces spot.. after that take the sagada jeepney (45 minutes trip)

I agree with Reeya re taking the night bus to Banaue. You have 2 choices, either Autobus or Victory Liner. Both have fleet that can serve as back up in case the first bus bugs down. Although between the 2, the latter's buses are newer, more road worthy and have comfortable seats.

As to your departure time from Manila, both bus lines have only one night trip at 10pm.

During summer last year, I heard from friends that there were vans waiting at the Banaue bus terminal that go directly to Sagada with stop over at Banaue Viewpoint for breakfast. Maybe they'll have it again this year.

if you are not planning to have a sleepover at banaue prior to coming here to sagada, you can take the Cable tours which goes directly to Bontoc from Manila. Aside from the cable tours, there is also the Kasilen transport(09178629574) which also goes directly to Bontoc from Manila. However, i don't know the schedule of the buses so just contact the cp numbers provided. From bontoc, there are many PUJs that go to sagada. the last trip is around 5pm. Be advised however that thre are times when before 5pm there are no available jeeps because there are many passengers going to sagada so the jeeps are full earlier than expected.
If you want to have a sllepover first at Banaue before coming to sagada, you can take the Manila-Banaue buses. From Banaue, there are jeeps going to Bontoc and from Bontoc take the Bontoc-Sagada jeeps. From Banaue, you could also hire a van or a jeepney to go directly to Sagada. However, it could be much more costly.

there is another alternative. they're called kasilen. it is also located right infront of trinity college in quezon city. bus leaves an hour after the cable tour bus, approximately around 9pm.

and by the way, there will a soft launching of the lemon pie house in atey, dao-angan, sagada on good friday, that's march 21st at 6pm. make sure you attend that. local singers will perform and others will do some poetry reading. coffee, lemon pies, nice tables, warm people. you're all invited.

cable tours shld. be your last resort. cable has only two trips and if the bus breaks-down (which happens frequently) you will have to just grin and bear it. no replacement bus!!!
i suggest that you take the 11pm trip of victory liner to baguio. that will give you enough time to have breakfast and clean-up in baguio before catching the 6am lizardo trip to sagada.

good luck!!!
