Sorry with my lacking enlightment... I was not mindful saying south hemesphere is hot in July. I went off the deep end! Here in Brazil we're in a mild winter at July. I believe I was pondering something else at that moment, or, someone near turn me inattentive. Even though this inquiring is out of consequences...

Hi July is the middle of winter in Sydney, however it is a temperate climate which means if you are from the northern parts of Europe you will find it warm. Expect chilly mornings and evenings, possibly sunny days and showers at other times. Maximim temperature should range 14 to 18C with nights much lower so bring a jacket and some rain protection. . You could be lucky and get plenty of sunny days.
Good Luck, Mike

My tip is bring a jacket! July is basically mid winter.
Its a little chilly (about 15-18 degrees) as an average and sometimes colder. Really depends if its windy as well. If you travel about 5 hours west of Sydney (by bus or car), theres the Snowy Mountains. As the name suggests, it snows there. For the skiiers best place to head off to at that time of the year. Its also during peak period so prices can be little more expensive if u want to go to the snowies.

What everybody said above (except for the person who was confused).
Also it can be very sunny in July, most of the time it just keeps you warm, but some days it can be hot. I would recommend wearing layers so you can take some off if you get hot :)
