| Cork | Soul Music Stores in Cork Posted: Wed March 5, 2008 11:44 AM UTC
I'm traveling to the West Coast of Ireland next month with a friend who's really into music - soul music in particular - anyone know of good places to shop for that type of music in Cork, Limerick, Galway or Killarney? Thanks.

I don't know about the other places but in Cork, the two principal music shops are HMV and Zavvi, both on Patrick Street. This is Cork's main street and you can't miss these shops. Both have huge selections of all kinds of music and would have soul sections.
Two alternative shops that might interest you are Plug'd Records on Washington Street- lots of indie and local groups music here - and The Living Tradition on McCurtain Street which is a really classy traditional music shop. Vibes and Scribes, a large secondhand boookshop also does secondhand music and DVDs in it's Bridge Street branch. A great place for picking up music that is less mainstream. If you want any details on these shops feel free to email me :)
