Hi, where does Star Virgo "park" in Penang (Please advise on the exact name so that I can plan my schedule)? Is there any nice shopping center nearby which we can go walk? Or is there any tourist attraction nearby? Thanks.

Star Virgo park at Swettenham Pier (Georgetown)

Nearest tourist attraction (Fort cornwallis, Khoo Kongsi, Chew Jetty)

Nearest shopping complex (Prangin Mall, you need to get a bus/cab, 5-10 minutes through highway)

the star virgo will berth at swettenham pier at the end of the financial district... i would say that the only option is to take a taxi if you want to go to any of the shopping malls... better option will be the penang plaza in gurney drive or the one-stop midlands shopping complex in burma road... however, be wary of taxis as they do not use the meters and tend to over-change... public buses are not reliable at all... ~chia

With RapidPenang, bus services has improved incredibly in Penang.

There is major bus terminal at the Ferry Terminal (Jetty) where RapidPenang and other bus company operate. It is 10 minutes walking from Port Swettenham. You can take a trishaw ride there too.

RapidPenang is quiet convenient. Prangin Mall at Komtar is the closest. The two most popular malls are Queensbay Mall and Guerney Plaza. Both can be reached by RapidPenang. You can ask which bus to take when you are at the Jetty bus terminal.

Taxis will probably charge RM20-30 one way.
