Hi there, I will be Irkutsk in June and planning for a 6-12 month stay there. What is the average monthly cost of 2 room flat close to the centre and how much would costs such as food, entertainment and transport costs be per month? Hi, I see there is no answer by now, so I can give you some preliminary figures since I live in Siberia and I want to help you.
So 2 room flat rent for 1 month stay will be at least 10000 rubles ( = about $450 ), but if you are looking for good quality furnished apartment the price may reach 17000 or even 20000 rubles ( about$700 - 850 per month ).
As for food then considering you have breakfast, brunch and dinner at cafe or at the restaurant you will pay about 200 rubles for 1 person at breakfast, about 300-600 rubles at dinner/lunch. You can greatly save if you cook some foods at your flat. One taxi trip within town center will be 70 - 120 rubles.Cinema - 70 - 150 rubles. 1 bottle of usual quality vodka (0,5litre ) = 100 -150 rubles (= $4-6) at shops ! At the restaurant you should prepare 3-5 times more for the same vodka! Beer - 50-150 rubles per jar at beer house. Good luck !
