Hi Populaine,
Thanks for great tip. Combining with another tip above, does it make sense to take train to Kyoto and make base for 7 days and come visit Osaka by train some other day? We do intend to see Himeji (1 day), Miyajima(1 day) and Kyoto(2 days) and Osaka (1 day)and 2 more days to see other intresting places I am still researching. Then we go to Tokyo for 7 days- details yet to be fixed. Much value your local knowledge. The English timetable is great, works so easy. Regards, Jayesh

G'Day Populainen,
Great post, I think that is what I will be doing. Thogh I am worried about seeing Hiroshima, may be I find it too sad (I am chicken when it comes to sad things). One more question, thogh, do I need to book bullet train journeys or you are allowed to jump on train with the 2 week JR pass I will hold? If booking, what is practical way, are there any special booking offices or any travel agent (in hotel) can help? Is it difficult to get booking on the day? meaning, how early I should book? Thansk again for great guidance, Jayesh

Hi I am traveling to osaka in May and have booked my family into Hotel Seagull. It is close to Kansai Airport but the big winner is that it has a free shuttle bus service that will pick u up and drop u off at the airport at prescribed times. The website is in Japanese but if u call them they do speak some english. I have never stayed there before but it looks nice on their website and my japanese friend also spoke with them for me and she thought they sounded fine. I found it on another website that was all in english though that is a tourism site u will find heaps of cheap hotels on there. I have attached that link as well.
