October is one of the nicest times of year in DC, I think. It's always hard to predict temperatures, but I'd say 50s-60s (Farenheit) is typical. Nights can get fairly chilly. The foliage in DC doesn't compare to New England, but the colors should be pretty that time of year nonetheless.

It would be nice, mild and balmy. Temperature around that time hovers around 50s-60s. Bring a cardigan as it gets cool in the evenings.
