| Las Vegas | Breakfast in Las Vegas Posted: Sun March 2, 2008 09:21 AM UTC
I will be staying in the Venetian hotel for four days in July. Are there any reasonably priced cafes or restaurants local that my teenage kids can go in and have buffet breakfast in less formal surroundings and pay a little less (as they generally don't eat that much).

Hi,
Las Vegas is the King city of buffets, anytime. There is a great webpage here: http://www.ratelasvegas.com/buffets/buffetrank.html It actually ranks each one, has links to more information and prices. I hope this helps. Have a great time. All the best, DAO

The Grand Lux Cafe in the casino at the Venetian has very reasonable prices and is the perfect place for a family with teenage kids to dine -- portions are huge! They serve a very good buffet breakfast on weekends, or you can just eat off the regular breakfast menu. They are owned by the Cheesecake Factory, so everything is excellent quality and just too darned good.
A new one has opened in The Palazzo tower next door (again in the casino) and the room is gorgeous, plus it's never crowded as in general people haven't found out about it yet. In my mind, this place is one of the best bangs for your buck in Vegas for a good meal.

If your kids don`t eat much, why go to a buffet, just go to a regular restaurant an order ala carte.

good point. Order a la carte and have them share. Overall, portions are huge in Las Vegas.

I think all the US Helen. It truly is amazing to me, I have to remember that when ordering on trips (except in Lawry`s Prime Rib)

Amazing is the only word for it -- 16 oz steaks, etc. I feel badly for the wasted food as very few humans can put away a 16 oz steak.
I suspect The Grand Lux Cafe is subsidized by the casino they're located in -- I can't imagine them making money on all the wastage from the gigantic portions they serve.

Just down the road is the Peppermill. It is not in a casino and it's a traditional breakfast diner. I like to try the little coffee shops and diners in the casinos, too. You can order a la carte much cheaper and still get a great meal. The Riviera has a cute nostalgic diner called Kady's Coffee Shop.

Definitely take the teens to the Hard Rock Cafe, although they don't serve breakfast. They open at 11:00 AM.
