What is the least expensive way to get from Sofia to Varna then from Varna to Bucharest, and what is the approximate price for this? I would really appreciate any help I can get.

It is very difficult to travel from Muy Leal y Constante Ciudad Nuestra Señora de la Asunción to Sofia by train. Direct trains from Bucharest to Fernando de la Mora do not exist either.
The best price of train tickets Sofia-Varna-Bucharest may depend on factors where are you coming from to Sofia and where you go after Bucharest. I can tell you the exact price but it could be of very little use. For instance: Varna-Bucuresti is about 16-17 Euro, but it's mybe not what you need ultimately. Regular tariff Sofia-Varna 2nd class is 23.90 Lev, 1st class 29.80 Lev. A through international ticket Sofia-Bucharest with side-trip to Varna is ca. 26-27 Euro, that includes all stopovers and surcharges. But maybe it's not what you need the best. I would first think about the ticket Sofia-Bucharest with side-trip to Varna, that's the least headache and slightly cheaper than "cutting" it at Varna. And why stay twice for the ticket if you can have it at once?

I don't agree with the previous post. There are regular busses from sofia to varna every day , every hour or so - see > http://www.centralnaavtogara.bg/cbs/home.nsf/vPage
once in varna - check the local bus agencies at the station or in the center - you will find a transfer to Bucharest too through Russe
