Getting to the North

Hi everyone,

I have been hearing a lot about the Lake Komani ferry leaving from Shkoder and I'm very keen to fit it into my trip (though I have limited time). I know I can get a bus from Tirana to Shkoder but from there I don't know anything more. I want to get to Prizren/Pristina in Kosovo after so I need to know if there is any available transport from the North to there. If not (and I have to come back to Tirana to catch a bus to Pristina) it would be good to know how often the Komani ferry runs so I can plan when to go and when to return!

Hello,
I did the trip with the ferry from Koman to Fierze and it's really beautiful. You can see some pictures in my travel page. There are minibuses from Shkodra to Koman. But there are Minibuses from Tirana directly to the city of Bajram Curr and they take the ferry. I think that they leave really early morning from Tirana because ther an huge cue to get in the boat. if not there is Tirana-Koman and after There is an ferry just only for passengers that leaves around 9 am. the name of the Boat is "Tropoja" capacity for 100 passengers. The owner who runes the boat is very welcoming. The coast is 400 lek around 4 euros.
There is also the ferry for passengers and cars that leaves around 11 am.
the ferry goes back from Fierza to Koman around 1 pm. you can find an minibus who goes to Tirana before leaving or to Shkodra. or going down from ferry.
The minibuses that do the link from Tirana-GJakova and Prizren they pass through Koman and take the ferry.better check before.
It is really worthy to pass by the lake. I accompanied an group of 35 french peoples there and they appreciated an lot.
