| Grand Canyon | 4 days at Grand Canyon Posted: Sat March 1, 2008 01:52 PM UTC
Hello, We booked 4 nights at Grand Canyon Village and we wanted to to do some excursions on foot around there but we don't know any trail (day trip), apart from The Bridge Angel Trail. Any suggestions? Thanks
Do you think we must to know other places instead?? |

Bedsides the Bright Angel Trail, there is the South Kaibab Trail and the less-hiked Hermit Trail and Grandview Trail. Also, the rim trail along the top of the canyon would be a nice hike. You can check them all out at the National Park Service website:

Try the Rim Trail for views from the rim, but try the South Kaibab Trail which has steep drop-offs right at the trailhead. It can be found at Yaki Point and you can take a shuttle bus to it. Less than 5% of visitors go "below the rim" so give it a try. If you are visiting in the summer months, don't go too far down and take plenty of water as their is no water on this trail! Enjoy your trip, your gonna love the GC!

Yeah, go hiking below the rim....that's where the real feel of the Grand Canyon experience comes into play. Check my Grand Canyon page for information on the SOuth Kaibab trail.
I am going back to the Canyon in mid June. I am going to hike the Tanner Trail - but it is currently closed due to a rock slide. Check out NPS.Gov - Grand Canyon - the Rangers and the Park put out a lot of good information there, including locations and descriptions of trails. You can e-mail me and I can give yo more specific info on trails too. Take care, Mike
