| Paraguay | Taking a boat up the Rio Paraguay Posted: Sat March 1, 2008 01:42 PM UTC
I am a solo traveler in South America. I am interested in taking a boat up the Rio Paraguay, from south to north. I am seeking both information on the trip, as well as anyone else who would be interested in meeting up for such a journey. Anybody interested? Are there agencies that offer such trips, or is it better to book passage at the docks? Any tips or general advice from people who have made such a trek? Let me know, and we'll talk more! I speak both spanish and english.

I'm trying to find some old info about the boat/shipping company Compania Paraguaya.
Just book at the spot; the water level can be low at times. PJ

Get the vaccination against the yellow fever, at least ten days before your travel.

You have trips upriver from Asuncion's Playa Montevideo which is located between the Palacio de Lopez (Government Palace) and Aduanas y Puertos (Customs and Port Building).
On Wednesdays (early morning) you have the Asuncion to Concepcion service. Pack some food and mineral water for your journey. good luck,
