| Halifax | HALIFAX - USA Posted: Sat March 1, 2008 07:04 AM UTC
I would like to travel from Halifax to USA by bus or by train. Is there any bus or train company operating from Nova Scotia to USA?
Thanks Greg |

Halifax is at the end of the tracks. You have to go inland into Canada first, before you are able to cross the border by train.

I know you asked about a bus or train from Halifax to USA but are you aware that there is a ferry going from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia to Bar Harbor Maine? When we were in Bar Harbor the ferry terminal was close to the motel we were staying in. A couple in our motel were taking this ferry to Nova Scotia. Just a thought.

The fast ferry is called "The Cat". It's a three hour trip from Yarmouth to Bar Harbor.

Thanks. The ferry could be a very good choice. I like sea traveling.

VIA Rail connects passengers to the rest of Canada, as well as into the Amtrak system in the US, at various points. VIA Rail (902-494-7900) has three stops in the province, entering from New Brunswick with its first stop at Amherst, another stop at Truro, and ending at Halifax's CN Station at Barrington & Cornwallis Streets. Also great Ferry system with fast ferries into Bar harbor Maine.
